My Blog Assignment Thoughts

Writing the weekly blog posts ended up being more useful than I thought at the start. At first it just felt like another assignment to get done, but after a while it actually helped me understand topics better. Instead of just reading something and moving on, I had to explain it in my own words. That made me slow down and think more about what I was saying. By the end, I could tell I was getting better at taking more complicated ideas and making them simple and clear.

One of the biggest things I got out of the blogs was improving how I communicate. Writing every week made me more comfortable explaining ideas instead of just giving short answers. I also got better at organizing my thoughts. Early on my posts were kind of all over the place, but later they had a clearer flow with a solid start, middle, and finish. I also liked that I could write in a way that sounds like me, not overly formal but still professional.

I also liked how the blogs pushed me to connect what we were learning to real situations. That made the assignments feel more useful instead of just repeating information. When I could tie something to real life, it stuck better. At the same time, that part could be challenging. It takes more effort to come up with good examples, especially when the topic isn’t super clear.

The part I didn’t like as much was having to do it every week. It could feel repetitive, especially when I already understood the topic or had other work going on. Sometimes it was also hard to figure out how detailed I needed to be. There were times where I felt like I was over explaining or not going deep enough. Finding that balance took some time.

Even with that, I can see how this kind of writing would be useful in a real company. For employees, it could be used to share updates or explain what they’re working on. That would make communication clearer and help teams stay on the same page. For customers, blogs are a good way for companies to explain what they do and build trust. Overall, it wasn’t always my favorite assignment, but it helped build skills that are actually useful outside of class.
